Getting started with ConvertCanvas

1. Install the app

Find ConvertCanvas in the Shopify App Store and click Install. The app opens embedded inside your Shopify admin — no separate account or password is needed. Approve the requested permissions so ConvertCanvas can read your themes and write to a draft theme.

If you see a "theme access pending" message after installing, don't worry — the builder works fully and your pages stay saved. Read what it means.

2. Create your first page from a template

From the dashboard, click New page and pick a surface — product, landing, collection, or cart (the Free plan starts with landing pages). Choose one of the 24 starter templates or a blank canvas. Templates are a starting point: every widget, section, and style is editable after you pick one.

3. Edit on the canvas

Drag widgets from the library onto the canvas, click text to edit it inline, and use the Style panel to adjust spacing, colors, and animations. A few things worth knowing early:

4. Publish to a draft theme

Click Publish. ConvertCanvas compiles your design into native Online Store 2.0 files — a JSON template plus Liquid sections — and syncs them to a draft copy of your theme. Nothing touches your live theme, ever, without your say-so. How publishing works

5. Preview the page

After publishing, use the preview link to see the page exactly as customers will — real theme, real storefront, rendered by Shopify. Check it on your phone too. If anything looks off, edit in the builder and republish; republishing only rewrites ConvertCanvas's own managed files.

6. Go live

When you're happy, open Online Store → Themes → Customize on the theme you published to. Use the template dropdown at the top of the theme editor to select your new ConvertCanvas template, assign it to the product, page, collection, or cart you want, and save. If you published to a draft theme, publish that theme (or copy the template to your live theme) when you're ready.
