ConvertCanvas is a visual page builder for Shopify. You design pages by dragging widgets onto a canvas, and the app compiles your design into native Online Store 2.0 theme files — JSON templates and Liquid sections — synced to a draft theme. There is no JavaScript runtime on your storefront.
Most page builders render pages at runtime with injected JavaScript — independent benchmarks show that adds 250–600ms to every page load, and your content stays locked inside their editor. ConvertCanvas compiles to native theme code instead: pages load like the rest of your theme, are editable in Shopify's theme editor, and keep working even if you uninstall.
No. Published pages are plain Liquid sections, CSS, and small vanilla-JS assets — the same kind of code your theme already ships. ConvertCanvas adds 0ms of runtime JavaScript to your storefront.
ConvertCanvas works with any Online Store 2.0 theme. Its compiled templates and sections follow the OS 2.0 format, and publishing always targets a draft copy of your theme first, so nothing on your live storefront changes until you approve it.
Everything you've published keeps working — it's native theme code that doesn't call back to our servers. You lose the ability to create and edit pages in the builder. Managed files carry an oxa- prefix, so removing them from the theme code editor later is easy and leaves the theme clean. More about publishing
Yes, 100%. The output is clean, readable Liquid and JSON. Open it in Shopify's code editor, or tweak spacing, animations, and visibility through the native theme-editor settings every published section exposes.
Product pages, landing pages, collection pages, and cart pages — each with surface-specific widgets like buy boxes, cart upsells, and free-shipping bars. The Free plan includes the landing surface; Basic and Plus unlock all surfaces.
Free includes up to 5 pages, Basic up to 10, and Plus is unlimited. Each page counts once regardless of republishes, and archived pages free up their slot. See pricing for details.
Yes — on the Plus plan. Duplicate any page into a variant, split traffic automatically, and read views, conversions, and lift in your dashboard. Promote the winner with one click. How experiments work
Shopify requires apps to hold a theme-modification permission before they can write theme files. While that permission is being approved, publishing is temporarily paused — but the builder works fully and every page you create stays saved. Publishing starts working automatically once access is approved; there's nothing you need to do. Read the full explanation
Plans are month-to-month, billed through Shopify, and you can cancel anytime from the app's billing page or by uninstalling — you won't be charged again. Refund requests follow Shopify's standard app billing process; contact us and we'll help you through it.
Nothing is deleted. All pages stay saved and published pages keep working. While you're over the lower plan's cap you can't publish new pages — archive pages or re-upgrade to get back within the limit.
No. The editor is fully visual — drag, drop, edit inline, publish. Developers are welcome too: the compiled output is clean Liquid they can extend freely.
